Requirements
1. Develops and implements events, programs, and displays to promote and interpret the history of the Museum to the public. Conducts evaluations of programs including feedback from participants. Promotes Museum activities and programs through the Marketing and Public Relations office of RiverWoods.
2. Coordinates programs and activities which will meet the RiverWoods residents’ needs.
3. Generates income for the Museum using activities and programs as approved by the Board.
4. Responsible for development and expansion of current Museum membership.
5. Develops and maintains a core of volunteers to present tours of the Museum and to assist with program and activities.
6. Maintains an effective internship program with area universities to provide professional expertise in collection management.
7. Schedules regular Slifer Advisory Board meetings and disseminates and properly maintains all committee reports and official records of the Slifer Advisory Board.
8. Develops and prepares periodic museum newsletters to inform membership and supporters of museum programs and activities through the Marketing & Public Relations office.
9. Prepares the annual budget for operating the museum in conjunction with the CFO of Albright Care Services to present to the Slifer Advisory Board for approval. Manages the budget on weekly basis and reports on status at Slifer Board meetings.
10. Prepares financial reports and evaluations of museum activities.
11. Develops annual work plan which focuses upon goals for the year to present to the Advisory Board for approval and reports on its status at Board meetings.
12. Recommends grant applications to the Board which further the museum’s goals and objectives.
13. Oversees the management of the physical assets of the Museum and informs the Board of facility maintenance and repair needs, follow-up with work orders. Maintains a clean, organized museum environment.
14. Informs the Executive Director and the Slifer Advisory Board of all programs and activities occurring at the Museum.
15. Advises the Executive Director of any potential or actual problem, which may jeopardize Albright Care Services.
16. Maintains a courteous, professional relationship with all other organization staff.
17. Recognizes confidential matters and does not divulge confidential information or material to anyone not authorized to receive such information.
18. Other Museum related duties as assigned by the Executive Director
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field.
2. Knowledge of 19th Century decorative arts and architecture.
3. Ability to effectively work with the public and solicit funding.
4. Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills with proven management experience.
5. Communication skills for accurate, concise, and organized oral and written presentations of information.
6. Listening, reading, and comprehension skills for analyzing reports and correspondence.
7. Computer skills sufficient for effective reporting, grant writing, documentation.
8. Must possess manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
9. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, stoop, stand and ascend and descend stairs.
10. Must be able to pass a physical examination within State and Federal guidelines.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Exposure to dust and occasional exposure to both inside and outside elements.
2. Lifts, stoops, stands and ascends and descends stairs during the course of the work shift.
3. Operates office equipment daily.
4. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
5. Standing and Sitting 50%, Walking 50%.
