Description

ESSENTIAL SALES DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned:

 

INTERACTION

  • Direct contact with members and guests
  • Direct contact with club employees
  • Direct contact with Member Services department
  • Indirect contact with Marketing department

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

  • Promotes retention, value, continuing education and professional follow-up throughout the guest and member's total experience
  • Monitors performance, tracking and accountability of all sales consultants
  • Provides information to prospective members regarding club facilities, programs and memberships
  • Supervises and manages the activities of sales consultants
  • Ensures staff adheres to the corporate policies and procedures
  • Conducts performance evaluations on sales consultants annually
  • Establishes and tracks goals for all club sales activities and maintains the goal board
  • Conducts monthly scorecard/checklists and report scores to the district manager
  • Conducts daily meetings for club sales staff and attends district and corporate sales meetings
  • Supplies statistical and all other required information relating to sales to the corporate office upon demand
  • Encourages and facilitates staff's continuing education, awards, and recognition
  • Maintains club website information, outdoor reader board, sales signing, and standards
  • Manages the lead generation activities, referral programs, guerilla marketing, health fairs, strategic partnering, sales contests and sales inventory
  • Manages and attends the mid-month and end-of-month closeout events and other related events
  • Assumes the responsibilities of the Club Operations Manager in their absence
  • Assists District Manager and corporate staff in accomplishing company goals
  • Monitors and drives all activities relating to sales, EBITDA and retention
  • Performs all responsibilities of the sales consultant
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains the sales staff
  • Participates in the overall safety, comfort and cleanliness of facility
  • Maintains personal commitment to fitness
  • Maintains highest level of professional ethics and compliance with all club rules, policies and regulations
  • Memorizes and understands Lifestyle Family Fitness mission statement, core values and company unique selling positions (USP)

 

ESSENTIAL OPERATIONS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following and other duties as assigned:

  • Direct contact with Club Sales Manager
  • Direct contact with all Operations employees

 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

  • Ensures that club is meeting its member retention goals, including freezes and cancellations
  • Ensures that club is meeting its operating expense goals
  • Ensures that club is meeting its overall ‘profit' goals
  • Continuously monitors club's level of cleanliness and equipment and facility maintenance
  • Ensures that all required checklists are completed and processed as required
  • Performs Operations employees performance reviews, with the proper feedback and coaching
  • Is intimately involved with and able to positively impact areas relating to club operational revenues including personal training, fee-based group fitness, retail centers, Kid's Club and others
  • Is intimately involved with and able to control areas relating to club operational expenses including payroll management, facility maintenance costs, customer service quality control and cleanliness
  • Continuously provides leadership and accountability for the success of the club's programming
  • Approves Operations employees vacation requests and all payroll activities
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, fully trains, monitors the performance of and provides recognition for Operations employees (see next duty)
  • Establishes and tracks club's operational goals, including but not limited to personal training revenue & profits, group fitness attendance and costs, fee-based group fitness program success, retail, Kid's Club attendance and costs, front desk statistics, maintenance, cleanliness, front desk, retention goals and Xpress workout usage
  • Fully understands and is able to train staff on all policies and procedures related to the front desk operations, including the Aphelion club management software, member check-in procedures, retail P.O.S. operations and all sales functions which are handled by front desk staff
  • Fully understands and is able to train staff on all policies and procedures related to membership sales
  • Fully understands and is able to train staff on all policies and administrative procedures related to payroll management
  • Supports the employees under his/her supervision by remaining abreast of and supporting the training and related programs developed by the corporate support division
  • Fully understands and is able to train staff on all policies and administrative procedures related to member freezes, cancellations, re-enrollments, and others
  • Stays abreast of new policies within the company and is able to both understand and implement the various procedural modifications that often occur within each of the club departments
  • Maintains consistency with the policies and operational procedures with the other clubs within LFF
  • Ensures that all employees are familiar with the club's overall safety procedures
  • Continuously assists the Membership Sales Department at his/her club
  • Maintains highest level of professional ethics and compliance with all club rules, policies and regulations and corporate policies and procedures
Requirements

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Friendly, outgoing personality
  • 1 year management experience
  • 4 years minimum sales experience preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience in a sales environment
