Food Services Assistant

 

 

Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.  Transfers food, supplies and equipment between storage areas and kitchen and/or cafeteria. Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance. Washes, peels and cores fruit and vegetables as necessary.  Sets up and takes down tables and chairs.  Scrapes, washes and stores dishes, pots, pans and utensils.  Clears, cleans, and sanitizes kitchen, cafeteria area and food storage areas.  Cleans refrigerators, stoves, ovens and other kitchen equipment.  Sweeps, mops, waxes and strips wax from floors.  Cleans and stores trash containers in appropriate areas.  Degreases and sanitizes vent screens and filters.  Positively models the Job Corps Career Success Standards:  Workplace Relationships and Ethics; Communications; Personal Growth and Development; Interpersonal Skills; Information Management; Multicultural Awareness; Career and Personal Planning; and Independent Living.  Mentors students on the Job Corps Career Success Standards (Workplace Relationships and Ethics; Communications; Personal Growth and Development; Interpersonal Skills; Information Management; Multicultural Awareness; Career and Personal Planning; and Independent Living) through formal and informal programs and activities.  Monitors student performance relative to the Job Corps Career Success Standards (Workplace Relationships and Ethics; Communications; Personal Growth and Development; Interpersonal Skills; Information Management; Multicultural Awareness; Career and Personal Planning; Independent and Living) via established programs, procedures and activities. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requirements High School graduate or GED required.  Experience in a food services operation desired. Must be able to obtain local Food Handling/Health Certification.
