Description
BILLING MANAGER
RIDGEVIEW, a not-for-profit community mental health center, based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee has an immediate opening for a Billing Manager in our Fiscal Department. This position is responsible for the overall management of the patient accounts department.
JOB DUTIES
- Provides analytical overviews of the patient billing processes and reimbursement data
- Identifies inefficiencies and problem areas, and recommends solutions
- Assist CFO in negotiations of payer contracts.
- Provides monthly summaries of billing/collection information and makes recommendations for improvements.
- Recruits, hires, supervises, and maintains ongoing relationship with department staff.
- Supervises patient account representatives to ensure completion of billing in a timely manner.
- Reviews aging reports monthly to evaluate account status; identifies problem accounts and works with representatives to resolve problem areas and ensure timely payment from third party payors.
- Supervises admissions department to ensure efficiency and timely certification; assists staff with any problems arising as a result of de-certification or exhausted benefits.
- Supervises collections to ensure consistent and efficient follow-up with delinquent accounts.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in accounting, or other related field of study preferred. Ten years of experience in the area of patient accounts/billing may be substituted for the educational requirements. A minimum of five years verifiable experience in medical billing with strong knowledge of Medicare, TennCare and private insurance billing; experience in psychiatric healthcare billing preferred.
