Bigelow Tea Company, the leader in specalty tea products, is searching for an influential player for the Boise, Idaho packaging facility.


The Quality Improvement Leader is the key driver of identifying, reporting and recommending opportunities for quality improvement initiatives. The Quality Improvement Leader is a passionate advocate for consumer loyalty through process improvement.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1)       Serve as the primary Quality resource for the plant and key driver of the continuous improvement process.

2)       Lead & train production in: HACCP, SQF, Organic and SPC programs

3)       Identify relevant quality-related training needs and deliver training.

4)       Participates in the weekly Corporate Quality Assurance Department Meetings.

5)       Evaluate, develop, implement, and manage improved techniques for the control of quality, reliability, and safety.

6)       Supports decision making on machine selection projects representing Quality Assurance.

7)       Oversee all monitoring and audit reporting functions in the manufacturing operation.

8)       Direct the training for production personnel on R.C. Bigelow quality standards.

9)       Review all specification and standards for inspection criteria on all co-packed items and report in writing omissions to appropriate corporate management. Report all nonconforming material to our suppliers via the PNF and DMM system.  Provide documentation, photos and ensure disposition when received. Work with Purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.

10)   Develop and maintain a supplier quality index, utilizing statistical control programs.

11)   Maintain quality data base of documents and data to ensure that accurate quality information is available to the company in a timely manner.

12)   Provide leadership in maintaining effective communication between the Quality Assurance and Production departments. Provides direction in measuring and testing product and collecting data relating to materials or the process.

13)   The administration of Lab and material qualifications testing and reporting of results to the appropriate corporate personnel and suppliers.

14)   Member of Plant Management Team.

15)   Performs other duties as assigned or needed.


Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to effectively present information to top management or public groups.
  • 3-5 years experience at HACCP and SPC programs.
  • 3-5 years Supervision experience and/or in depth understanding of R.C. Bigelow quality assurance standards.
  • Computer Skill: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Project Management skills
