Under the general direction of the Branch Manager, the Sales Manager is responsible for directing and managing the sales activities of a group of Senior Mortgage Advisors so that efficient customer service is provided and quality loans are generated. The Sales Manager is responsible for generating personal production volumes. This position generally manages three to five Senior Mortgage Advisors. Current track record of loan production and industry knowledge is required.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide input into the development of an individual business plan for the loan production office which supports the overall sales strategy of WJMC.
  • Directs the work of Senior Mortgage Advisors in the loan production office including the establishment and monitoring of goals, implementing policies and procedures, and managing price protection.
  • Recruits, selects, orients, and trains staff capable of meeting projected human resource needs; recommend and/or makes decision in personnel-related matters such as employee performance reviews, employee development, training, terminations, bonuses, etc.
  • Obtains residential first mortgages for production while adhering to all company policies and government regulations.
  • Services new and existing clients.
  • Sets and achieves personal production and service goals.
  • Contributes to company market share and branch profitability.
  • Solicits residential mortgages from various sources including realtors, builders, and other nontraditional sources.
  • Maintains North Carolina state and regulatory licenses as required
Requirements
  • College degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Knowledge of underwriting requirements, conventional and government loan requirements which is normally acquired through related experience in real estate, mortgage banking or similar industry.

  • Three to five years experience as a loan originator, processor, or underwriter, plus two or more years of supervisory experience.
  •  Demonstrated ability to effectively train and develop employees.
  •  Demonstrated selling and negation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills applicable to a sales oriented environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Requires ability to travel within the local area to make contact with bankers, realtors, builders and other sources; must be able to provide own transportation.
