Onsite Science Teacher

About Us

Alpha Omega Academy is a fully-accredited distance learning school utilizing both paper and electronic curriculum options for K-12 students desiring a Christian school education.

Summary of Onsite Science Teacher

Alpha Omega Academy is looking for a full-time distance-learning teacher to work at our Rock Rapids, Iowa, location. We currently have an opening in our high school science department.

Responsibilities of Onsite Science Teacher

  • Fully support a Biblical, Christian worldview as expressed in the Academy’s Statement of Faith and developed in the curriculum.
  • Provide academic support and consultation to students and parents as it meets the objectives of Alpha Omega Academy and as it relates to parent/student relations, service, and academic support in all curricula.
  • Interpret and evaluate placement test results and high school transcripts.
  • Advise students and parents in regard to courses and credits needed to meet high school graduation requirements.
  • Counsel with parents, offer motivational tips, and handle problem situations.
  • Monitor student progress and give feedback as necessary.
  • Demonstrate appropriate degree of professionalism.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills, be detail-oriented and able to multi-task.
  • Work independently; be a self-starter.
  • Demonstrate a friendly and diplomatic approach when dealing with parent/student problems – be people-oriented.
  • Possess good spelling, grammar, and communication skills.
  • Be a team player.

 

 


Job Requirements 


Onsite Science Teacher

Requirements for Onsite Science Teacher :

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have at least a bachelor’s degree in a field of natural science, or in secondary education with a proficiency in science.
  • Candidates must also be computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office, and able to learn new programs quickly.
