Salem Press, a 60-year-old reference book publisher located in Hackensack NJ, is a product center of EBSCO Publishing, headquartered in Ipswich, MA. EBSCO Publishing is a worldwide provider of reference databases designed to meet the needs of all libraries. Salem Press enjoys a terrific reputation for excellent products and is responsible for the sales and marketing of their books to schools, libraries and colleges.

 

Salem Press, Hackensack NJ, currently has an excellent telephone sales opportunity managing a large pool of existing customers and targeted, qualified prospects. Territory Sales Managers are responsible for inbound and outbound telephone calls to public libraries, school libraries and college libraries to describe and sell the company's products. Calls are made to existing customers for upgrade and new product sales, and to prospects from carefully targeted lists provided. Territory managers also coordinate prospecting and marketing with Field Sales Representatives in assigned territories. Additional sales support is via catalog mailings and direct mail.

 

Territory Managers are paid a base salary plus commissions on all sales in their territories. These sales include wholesaler and jobber orders; sales by field representatives, and sales made directly by Territory Managers over the phone. This position is full time with excellent health benefits. This position has a starting salary of $20K plus commissions which currently yields $55K+ to dedicated Territory Managers. Training provided. This position is based at Salem Press in Hackensack, NJ.

Requirements

2 Years of college and 2 years of sales or telemarketing experience are required.

 

We are looking for candidates with excellent oral communication skills, an aptitude for sales, and strong time management skills. Must be upbeat, optimistic, have a good sense of humor and enjoy books and information. Professionalism and persistence are keys to success in this position.
