Transportation Manager and Representatives

Job Description 

We are currently seeking a Transportation Manager and  Representatives to join our growing Operations team!

Transportation Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and coordinate with Inventory department vendor shipments to local 3PL providers
  • Work closely with designated carriers to ensure all customer delivery expectations are met while delivering at the least possible cost
  • Analyze all potential TFF deliveries to ascertain best shipping facility or transport mode
  • Communicate with internal sales groups and departments, as well as, outside customers in an expedient manner
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend best policies and procedures
  • Train and instruct supervisors and hourly employees on most efficient means of executing their tasks
  • Plan priority work schedules for department
  • Develop and maintain all reports dealing with service times and carrier expenses
  • Assist in the processing and preparation of all TFF carrier charges for payment
  • Manage customer driver damage claim process
  • Schedule freight pick-ups at vendor facilities and coordinate delivery to our distribution centers
  • Assist in the preparation of bid requests to carriers for various traffic lanes
  • Prepare delivery reports dealing with key performance indicators
  • Work closely with inbound receiving departments
  • Negotiate carrier rates
  • Process invoices for payment
  • Handle all major transportation issues
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Management

 

Transportation Representative responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Schedule freight pick-ups at vendor facilities and coordinate delivery to our Distribution Centers
  • Assist in the preparation of bid requests to carriers for various traffic lanes
  • Prepare various control & cost logs
  • Prepare various delivery service reports dealing with specific key performance      indicators, such as customer on-time delivery, carrier expenses and made deliveries
  • Monitor driver routes through GPS tracking and Agentek reporting
  • Perform customer confirmation calls and follow-up with VIP customer deliveries
  • Prepare reports on all customer delivery failures
  • Work closely with Dispatch Department
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Management
 


Job Requirements 

Transportation Manager requirements:

  • Five years of transportation experience in a supervisory role dealing with national common carriers
  • Must possess strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills required

 

Transportation Representative requirements:

  • 1 plus year experience in a customer service role required
  • Transportation experience a plus
  • Exceptional phone and administrative skills a must
  • Must possess strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills required
