Ground System Engineer

Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT, Inc.) a government contractor at EROS data center, is seeking a Ground System Engineer.  The Ground System Engineer will work with a team of system engineers and technical leads to plan and execute complex engineering activities for the LDCM Ground System.  He/she will contribute to systems engineering activities which include: Requirements Analysis, Performance Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System analysis and design, Interface and Data Architectures, Verification and Validation, System Integration, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, Decision Analysis and Resolution. The GS Engineer will provide technical expertise involving a variety of hardware and software systems and support the system engineering activities in the overall development and integration of the LDCM Ground System.  The Ground System Engineer will also support the Chief Systems Engineer on technical matters and engineering aspects at the joint NASA/USGS mission level.

• Support the definition, development and maintenance of critical documents appropriate to a large-scale satellite Ground System, which includes but is not limited to the Ground System Requirements Document, Ground System Interface Requirements Document, Ground System Ops Con and Ground System Design Document.
• Provides engineering guidance on aspects of the development and integration of the Ground System including cross-segment and element issues through system analysis and design, system integration, and decision analysis and resolution.
• Provide V&V planning and coordination as well as technical analysis support for simulated and test data for GS requirements verification activities.
• Provide engineering analysis and support for test data identification test phase planning activities with the instrument and spacecraft components.
• Provide engineering analysis and support on technical topics including requirements, throughput, and performance analysis, including reliability,maintainability and availability analysis as part of the critical design for the Ground System.
• Provide engineering expertise on all Ground System reviews and prepare briefing materials and brief as required at Project Reviews, Technical Interchange Meetings, and status meetings, both internal and external.
• Provide coordination with Ground System Integration & Test and Infrastructure to establish and execute plans for integration of elements into a single Ground System.
