Description Our client, a leading trading firm in Chicago, is looking for a Core Java ( J2SE ) J2EE Web Application Support Engineer. The Core Java J2EE Web Application Support Engineer will function as a software engineer supporting front-end web-based internet systems in a distributed Unix / Linux production environment. The ideal candidate must be a strong Java Web Application Developer with experience programming in Core Java ( J2SE ) server-side, and be able to provide development support for front-end Java web applications in J2EE. This role will support Java based web applications and will include troubleshooting issues and performing the development necessary to fix current system issues. Follow through with problem troubleshooting until completion, or proper handoff if required, is a key responsibility for this role. The Web Application Support Engineer will also be responsible to suggest and provide enhancements, and work on creating improved tools for testing. In this role, the candidate will work very closely with the internal group that is responsible for the development of all web applications within the organization. The successful candidate must be very strong in Unix scripting and very strong working with SQL. Last, the candidate for this role should be comfortable in a client-facing role and be able to thrive in a fast-paced multitasking environment.

Requirements * 3+ years developing Java Web Applications in a Unix / Linux environment.
* 3+ years working with WebLogic application servers.
* 3+ years of HTML, JavaScript, Tomcat, and Apache.
* 3+ years of experience with SQL and experience with some type of RDBMS (Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 / Sybase / MySQL). This includes having in-depth experience working with complex multi-table structures. Must be able to tune queries to run efficiently.
* 3+ years of Scripting experience.
* Knowledge of basic system administration tasks on UNIX / LINUX platform.
* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or MIS or related field preferred.
* The engineer must also be available 24X7 for emergency support.
