Description Our world class client is currently seeking a Manager Accounting Research and Policy to join thier dynamic team!  This outstanding position interacts regularly with key finance and accounting personnel at the Company's business units, management in other functional areas, and the Company's external auditors. It reports to a Director, who in turn reports to the VP.

This role participates in a team of technical accounting professionals who perform accounting research and develop accounting policies in a complex environment. This includes researching and interpreting generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure proper reporting of external financial statements, and monitoring and drafting company responses to proposed accounting rule changes by various regulatory bodies (i.e., SEC, FASB, EITF, and IASB).

Specific areas of expertise assigned to this position include leading business unit accounting personnel through evaluations of complex transactions involving topics such as revenue recognition, asset impairments, and contingencies; preparing Audit Committee presentation materials; monitoring and reporting on accounting rule-making; responding to queries from the SEC; and serving as a liaison to the Company's business units, other funtional areas, and external auditors.

Requirements Our deal candidate has at least 10 years of accounting-related experience, including recent work in public accounting. Must be self motivated and results oriented with the ability to organize and research complex accounting issues and provide guidance to management on proper application of financial accounting standards.

Extensive working knowledge of current and proposed financial accounting standards required. Other critical attributes include strong interpersonal and communication skills, solid project management skills, and training skills. Bachelor's degree and Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
