Software Engineer

Location: New York City, NY

Contract

Length: 7 months, onsite

Software Engineer for its news alerting application development team. This team provides ultra-low latency, real-time applications in mission-critical locations across the global client network. Development in C# of .NET 3.5, multi-threaded applications in Windows Forms and WPF provides solutions for a demanding customer base in high-pressure environments. This candidate will be part of a team that is responsible for all aspects of software development including design, development, testing, and support, working in an Agile fashion.

Requirements

4-year college degree in Computer Science or a related field
A minimum of 4-5 years of industry experience with evidence of a history of successfully completed projects.
Advanced C# experience is essential.
Excellent .NET 3.5 experience is essential.
Commercial experience with mocking frameworks (thereby exhibiting an advanced understanding of unit testing) is advantageous.
Use of common design patterns is essential. Commercial experience with WCF is advantageous.
Commercial experience with TDD methodologies is advantageous.
Commercial experience with CI environments is advantageous.
Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Evidence of being innovative and self-motivated and a desire to work in a global team environment.
Desire to be involved with the latest commercial software development practices.
