The U.S. Dream Academy is a national non-profit organization serving children of incarcerated parents and other at-risk children.   Our mission is to empower children and maximize their potential by providing after-school academic enrichment programs through supportive mentoring and the use of technology. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Plan and deliver a daily curriculum which encompasses skill-building, character-building, and dream-building.  Deliver and maintain the organization’s prescriptive online academic curriculum.  Complete quarterly and year-end academic assessments. Perform other curriculum-related administrative duties as required.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

Applicant must have a passion to educate and inspire children.  Applicant must be experienced in creating lesson plans, and must have proven ability to utilize multiple methods and creative resources to engage children in enrichment activities.  Applicant must have an excellent ability to communicate with children, parents and all levels of personnel.  Applicant must have outstanding organizational skills and group management skills.  Proficiency in MS Office and database systems is also required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

Must be a State certified teacher with 3-4 years teaching experience working in a classroom setting.  Experience working with children living in high-risk communities is strongly desired.
