Job Description

Must Haves:

-breadth of experience with what products they have designed for – preferably heavy equipment with multiple components

-cradle-to-grave design experience (“white paper" design)

-FEA and FMEA experience

 

 

 

 

Must have a Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering degree.

Must have experience in Agriculture or Heavy Equipment design.

:: Design Engineer

Company is a domestic and international manufacturer of innovative, agriculture machinery, has an immediate opening for a DESIGN ENGINEER. Responsibilities are to create layouts and specifications for new products and build and evaluate prototype machines under the direction of a lead project engineer.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Ag Engineering

2. Mechanical Desktop experience

3. Good communication skills

4. Detail oriented

5. Well organized

6. Ability to take direction and work independently

 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Assist in determining feasibility of design concepts

2. Prepare layouts utilizing different approaches in order to aid management in deciding best course of action

3. Prepare cost analysis in order to determine potential project costs

4. Do required calculations to size structural and functional components

5. Determine piece part specifications insuring proper fit of all components in projected prototype/product

6. Produce individual piece part sketches and drawings for all parts required (both in-house and outsourced) in the project

8. Communicate effectively with proto shop personnel during prototype building

9. Analyze prototype and adjust layouts and sketches as required before production build cycle begins

10. Work with participants in testing programs

11. Conduct investigations and test as well as do layouts as required for any reported current production design problems or desired improvements
