Description

Connecticut Lighting Centers, with locations in Hartford and Southington, along with Restoration Lighting Gallery, are the premier lighting showrooms in the northeast, serving both the residential and light commercial markets. We are a medium-sized, family-owned business in operation for over 35 years.

Connecticut Lighting Centers is seeking a seasoned Controller with experience in a retail environment to join our management team.

 

As Controller you will report directly to the on-site Owner/President and be a member of the Executive Team.

 

You will be responsible for:

• Full oversight of all accounting functions and staff (AP, AR, Daily balancing…)

• Financial reporting and forecasting (daily, monthly, quarterly, yearly)

• Compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and filings

• Payroll

• Inventory controls/management including cycle counts and annual inventory

• Internal controls, policy & procedures

• Working closely with all departments, providing information and analysis

• Interaction with customers, vendors and industry reps

• Interaction with all employees, entry level to executive, in support of daily operations

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years experience in a financial management position

• CPA or Managerial Accounting Certification preferred

• Experience in a retail environment preferred

• Team player with a strong work ethic

• Positive, customer-service, driven outlook

• Highly organized. 

• Proven ability to accomplish goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment where the customer’s needs always come first

• Proven ability to manage, delegate and coordinate work flow and responsibilities

• Desire to take on challenges

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Exceptional computer/technology skills with the ability/desire to implement technology to improve internal systems
