GENERAL SUMMARY
Responsible for responding to all client inquiries regarding the coordination and delivery of Durable Medical Equipment and related services for Workers’ Compensation cases. Serves as a subject matter expert and training resource for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) products and processes. Acts independently with minimal supervision from senior management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Processes and responds to client inquiries regarding the coordination and delivery of Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
• Assesses, investigates, and resolves difficult customer issues and addresses all issues relating to high-exposure or catastrophic claims to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Analyzes and documents current processes to identify process improvement areas. Provides recommendations to senior management for approval..
• Measures, monitors, and analyzes industry and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) price trends and company expenditures to identify opportunities to reduce and/or avoid expenses and manage the quality and performance of the products and services.
• Monitors billing activities for Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to ensure expenses are coded appropriately and paid in a timely manner in accordance with corporate policies/procedures.
• Assesses training needs within the team. Serves as a training resource, mentor, and coach to others.
• Assists with maintaining business relationships by working effectively with providers, facilities, and referral sources.
• Ensures department adherence to all local, state and federal requirements guiding workers’ compensation processes.
• Serves as a consultant and product knowledge expert of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and the rehabilitative services industry. Identifies and shares best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Previous (5-7 years) experience with Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in medical systems utilizing HCPCS and CPT codes.
- Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation and medical terminology required.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership, planning - and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills; ability to make independent decisions.
- Demonstrated effective computer skills.
- Must be able to navigate within a systems-dependent environment without assistance.
