The Developer will be responsible for supporting the Banner ERP system, Oracle based database applications and the data warehouse. Other responsibilities include the oversight of maintenance activities for all database servers and managing user requests. Designs, tests, and documents solutions to support the informational needs and business processing activities of the organization. Develops and manages technical support plans and procedures that maintain security, high availability and manages capacity.
Essential Functions:
- Provides technical and functional support for the Banner and Luminis ERP systems.
- Provide database administrator functions for database maintenance activities and backups.
- Maintains Oracle database servers and data warehouse.
- Develops and maintains data cubes.
- Plans, coordinates, and applies patches or maintenance to the Banner application when needed.
- Uses appropriate project management methodology to coordinate and plan deliverables.
- Integrates the Banner Student Information System modules with other third-party applications.
- Works closely with internal team members, customers, and the software vendor to research and troubleshoot errors and system performance issues.
- Responsible for change control and the migration of objects, program code or data from test to production in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Creates new application environments for on-going projects as well as refreshing existing environments when needed.
- Ensures high availability of Banner applications and online Web based services.
- Assesses Banner infrastructure architectural needs and develop horizontal support plans.
- Coordinates production activities with the Network Engineer and Integration Specialist.
- Assists in the backup and recovery testing of core enterprise based systems.
- Assists in the planning and implementation of disaster recovery procedures for enterprise based systems.
- Performs and manages patch management activities for Banner and other core enterprise based applications.
- Manages production outages and communication needs associate with production issues.
- Analyzes program requests, elicit user requirements, design, develop, test, document solutions that satisfy requests.
- Maintains Banner solutions and database applications according to business requirements, internal policies, procedures and compliance standards.
- Documents core production activities and maintains internal knowledge base.
- Cross-trains core function with other team members.
