TEMPORARY MEDICAL CERTIFIED CODER POSITION AVAILABLE
The Certified Professional Coder’s responsibilities will include:- Performing auditing duties related to diagnosis coding in compliance with Medicare/CMS guidelines. - Determining accurate codes for diagnoses. - Reviewing as well as interpreting records and notes for completeness and accuracy in compliance with regulations. - Recognizing inconsistencies and mistakes in documentation. Translating medical jargon and abbreviations into their expanded forms to ensure the accuracy of patient and health care facility records.- Protecting the security of medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.Must be able to set priorities, work independently and effectively communicate with management and support areas. The successful candidate will be able to manage multiple requests within a prescribed timeframe.Interested candidates should have excellent organizational and time management skills, problem solving, and multi-tasking capabilities.
Requirements
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, and Outlook) is a plus. Professional coding certification (e.g., CCS, CCS-P, CPC) from one of the professional associations such as AHIMA or AAPC is required. Documented current experience in billing / medical insurance coding is also required. Medicare Risk Adjustment experience preferred.
