Sr. Consultant Advanced Analytics Select - Business Intelligence & Analytics

 

SUMMARY:

 

This position:

-Provides technical and quantitative analysis for the Select Business Intelligence Analytics group. 

-Assists in predictive modeling, forecasting, optimization and other modeling and research by applying advanced statistical concepts with guidance from senior staff.

-Consults with business partners to understand analytic needs, and either collaborates with partners to complete analytic projects or enables partners to complete projects themselves. 

-Uses computer technology, computer modeling, spreadsheet applications, software tools and programming languages.

-Models and analyzes statistical data and develops reports, spreadsheets and databases.

-Designs, writes and tests computer programs in model building.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:

 

-Conduct statistical modeling and research.

-Interpret data and identify correlations using both univariate and multivariate analysis.

-Consult with business partners on issues requiring analysis including interaction ranging from training sessions, meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and joint analysis of results.

-Communicate insights and findings with appropriate context to a broad array of customers and stakeholders. 

-Participate in and take responsibility for analytic projects including overall design, analytical approach, mathematical calculations and technical implementation. 

-Support the creation of an analytic culture across Select by participating in or taking responsibility for analytic tool training (e.g. data visualization tools), analytic user groups, and helping business partners discover the value of information in an unbiased, scientific manner.

-Provide front-line user support and assist business partners with sourcing training for advanced analytics tools. 

-Perform programming in SAS, Excel, Access or company software to perform modeling activities.

-Offer recommendations to improve analyses.

-Participate in discussions regarding business strategy.

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

Either 3 to 5 years statistical modeling experience or advanced statistical (or related) degree with 1 to 3 years of work experience

 

Solid understanding of database principles

 

Strong experience in quantitative analysis

 

Strong time management skills (works well with somewhat limited guidance)

 

Basic understanding of predictive modeling statistical methods

 

CERTIFICATES/DEGREES:

 

College degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, finance, actuarial science or equivalent

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

 

Effective verbal and written communication skills

 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

 

Solid understanding of computers, SAS, Excel spreadsheets, Word and database software
