Payroll Accountant – South Charlotte, NC - $40k - $50k

Large Distribution Company has an opening for an experienced Payroll Accountant in it’s Accounting department!  Payroll Tax experience required.  This is a dynamic, fast-paced department with a lot of room for growth for a sharp individual!

Job Description

• Complete payroll process for 800+ from time entry to posting payroll expenses to the GL.
• Reviewing payroll and verifying that information is accurate, edit and correct any items that need attention
• Entry, adjustment, and reconciliation of job cost accounting.
• Key all new hire setup, maintenance of employee information, and termination information.
• Responsible for transmission and reconciliation of payment information
• Weekly and/or Bi-weekly processing and distribution of paychecks and reports for employees
• Responsible for all payroll tax activities pertaining to the filing of federal, state, and local payroll tax returns and payments’ compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Will handle special requests from regulatory agencies, in researching regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding payment procedures.
• Handle deduction payments and reporting, such as Unions dues, charities, levies and garnishments.
• Special reports for senior management.
