PLANT ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT

Ideal is the North American leader in designing, manufacturing, and distributing engineered clamps for OE customers in automotive, appliance, marine, plumbing.  We also have strong leadership position in the Aftermarket Industry.  We manufacture the screw, band and housing components for our worm gear style clamps in our Smyrna, TN (suburb of Nashville, TN) manufacturing facility.  We are moving our division headquarters to Smyrna, TN. currently. Ideal strives to grow and improve our operations through new product development and continuous improvement activities.

Ideal is a major subsidiary of Tomkins Industries which is a global manufacturing company. We are conducting a search to add an experienced PLANT ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT to our  Team

Plant Accounting Assistant – Smyrna

Perform all activities necessary for the support of the production operations including system maintenance, performance reporting, labor reporting, and month end close.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain ERP systems--AS400, excel related files and bills of materials and routings for multi-plant/ multi-system global operation.
• Produce and issue weekly performance reporting to operations.
• Aid in the compliance with NAFTA and US Customs requirements for the import of product into the US from our Mexico facility.
• Produce and post monthly entries to the general ledger.
• Backup labor reporting and hourly payroll processing.
• Perform other duties as required-assist with inventories, etc

Qualifications:

The position requires a high school diploma with at least two years of relevant accounting support experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous payroll experience would be a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems experience is also required. Some additional continuing education in accounting related subjects is also a plus.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability and physical dexterity to utilize computer equipment and the ability to sit for extended periods of time and to lift light to moderate (up to 35 lbs.) weight.  Capable of maintaining prompt and regular attendance schedules and working overtime if required.
