Agra Placements LTD was founded in 1974 in West Des Moines Iowa by an executive responsible for hiring decisions in a multinational agribusiness firm. He believed that there was a need in the agriculture industry for highly qualified candidates to be able to find their niche with companies within the agricultural sector. He then funded a recruiting firm devoted to companies in horticulture, food and related industries. The firm steadily expanded and currently employees 22 recruiters plus support staff. Additional offices were established in Lincoln Nebraska in 1978, Peru Indiana in 1979, Minneapolis Minnesota in 1990 and Sioux Falls South Dakota in 1997, and Hesston Kansas in 1998.
