Accounts Payable/ Accounting

Description of Accounts Payable/ Accounting:

 

A Construction company located in Denver Colorado is seeking an Accounts Payable/ Accounting Manager to manage the day-to-day compilation, processing and maintenance of outbound funds. In addition, the AP/PO Manager essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

 

  • Checks and processes approved vouchers for payment
  • Construction cost accounting
  • Management of AP Department<
  • Prepares invoice deduction notices, as necessary
  • Audits freight bills against freight manifests
  • Responds to all vendor inquiries within one (1) business day
  • Analyzes vendor accounts and negotiates extended terms with vendors when cash is restricted
  • Prepares accounts payable checks every week
  • Prints all accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files
  • Prepares analysis of accounts and assists in monthly closings
  • Assists with purchase order administration and special projects as necessary
  • Other duties may be assigned by department head
Requirements

Accounts Payable/ Accounting

Requirements of Accounts Payable/ Accounting:

 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred;
  • or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have previously managed an Accounts Payable and Accounting Department.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Internet software; Inventory software; spreadsheet software and word processing software.
  • This position may frequently require more than 40 hours per week. Salary to commensurate with experience.
