Senior Tech

NIITEK is a rapidly expanding company that designs and produces ground-penetrating radar for military and humanitarian applications. Our engineers and the people who support them are committed to developing the premier landmine detection system for robotic, and vehicle mounted platforms. NIITEK’s research and development team is based in Sterling, VA and the production facility is located in Charlottesville, VA. 

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Tech to join our Sterling location’s R & D team. The position works closely with the circuit design engineers to test and repair circuits to the component level. Use industry standard test equipment as well as customized test fixtures to setup, test, and calibrate electronic circuitry designed for use in Niitek radar systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Test and troubleshoot printed circuit boards to component level as well as characterize, optimize and document the performance of complex circuitry. 

• Re-work and repair surface mount and mixed PCB modules. Replace fine pitch SM components

• Work closely with the design staff to support the builds and testing of radar systems.
• Work from and cross reference schematics, PCB plots, and assembly drawings, as well as block diagrams and test plan developments.
• Modify schematics, manage BOMs, and generate assembly drawings.

EDUCATION

A.S. degree or equivalent in work experience.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 5+ years experience

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

• This positions requires obtaining and maintaining a Secret DoD level clearance which requires US Citizenship or Green Card Holder.
• Must have experience with a broad array of electronic test equipment – proficiency with digital oscilloscopes, DMM and signal and logic generators.
• Excellent soldering skills required
• Solid understanding of digital and analog circuits
• Ability to work on time critical projects
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
