Due to exceptional growth, UniTek USA is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Estimator to be based out of our Corporate Headquarters in Blue Bell. The Estimator will prepare competitive estimates to accurately forecast the cost of future telecommunications construction projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·         Compile and analyze all project data factors influencing job cost: materials, labor, equipment, etc.

·         Analyze and review blueprints, specifications, conceptual drawings and related  documents

·         Develop budgets

·         Complete estimating forms

·         Prepare time-phase and project sequence charts and reports

·         Establish vendor and subcontractor relationships  

·         Obtain bids from vendors and negotiate vendor pricing

·         Utilize project documentation to prepare project cost estimates

·         Effectively present proposals, information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers

·         Proactively seek cost effective methods of improving efficiency in the bid   preparation process

·         Complete various reports as necessary

·         Track actual costs relative to bid specifications as the project develops

                ·         2-5 years previous outside plant construction estimator experience

·         Bachelor’s in Engineering / related field, or equivalent of work related experience

·         Ability to analyze information and trends to make sound business conclusions

·         Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

·         Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry

·         Ability to interpret blueprints and a variety of instructions   furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

·         Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to lead, mentor and work within a team

·         Previous Outside Plant Construction, CATV, FTTP Construction, Fiber Optic  Cable Construction, HFC Construction or Telecom is preferred
