Description

JAVA DEVELOPER  - KINGSTOWN, VA (ALEXANDRIA)

(Contractor to possible direct hire)

From start date of selection to 10/30/10; with option years as approved

2 positions – SENIOR/MID level


*Bachelors degree Preferred

*MS Certification Preferred

Must be a US Citizen. 

CBP Background Investigation (including police and credit check) required and must either hold a current DoD secret clearance or be able to qualify for one.

Candidate must have 5+ yrs Java, including solid experience with design patterns. Individual must also have some experience with ASP .NET/C# development, Windows Services, IIS 5.0, IIS 6.0, Inter-process communications. They must have worked in an IDE (e.g. eclipse, Visual Studio). They must be at least comfortable with both linux and scripting (ksh, zsh, perl or ruby) As a plus they could have experience with sending messages via Websphere MQ. They must have at least familiarity with and willingness to do CMMi or other RAD processes, preferably using UML (e.g. Use Cases, Sequence diagrams etc) and be able/willing to write design documents and do formal code reviews. Experience with a CM tool such as CVS, subversion, rational is a plus.

The selected candidate will be developing software, supporting unit and integration testing, analysis and design, and supporting documentation requirements.  Develop necessary code CM, workstation configurations, and scripting in support of applications running on production servers.  Also required to write formal design documents according to client defined processes, perform code reviews, and provide unit testing for each module developed.  Code will be checked into a COTS repository; the successful candidate will be required to perform builds and be involved in upgrading the build process.  Must maintain existing (legacy) applications, yet will be actively involved in new development and modernization efforts.  MCAD or MCSD certification is preferred.
