Description For over 275 years ZWILLING JA HENCKELS has delivered supreme quality, innovation and reliability across its many product lines.  In addition to cutlery, the company engineers, manufactures and markets scissors, kitchen gadgets, cookware and flatware.  Today, ZWILLING JA HENCKELS sells its products in 100 countries with the help of ten wholly owned subsidiaries.  The company took a major step toward continued growth in 2008 by acquiring Staub and Demeyere, two companies steeped in rich history of manufacturing superior quality cast iron and stainless steel cookware respectively. 

 

We are currently looking for a PART-TIME Retail Sales Specialist in the Baltimore / DC area – 20 hours per week.  This position reports to the Director of Merchandising.  The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with a culinary passion who will be a brand ambassador of the ZWILLING JA HENCKELS brands; ZWILLING JA HENCKELS, JA HENCKELS INTERNATIONAL, MIYABI, Staub and Demeyere in department and specialty stores. 

 

Primary Purpose

The Retail Sales Specialist will act as the field manager for the ZWILLING brands stated above by focusing on training, merchandising and building strong relationships at the department and specialty store level to maximize business potential. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Training

·       Train store staffs and management on all ZWILLING brands product knowledge and usage techniques – including new product introductions.

·       Coordinate participation in bridal and special events according to account needs.

·       Schedule and hold culinary demonstration and events for retail customers/end consumers according to individual account and or store needs.

  

Point of Sale

·       Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with store staffs and management.

·       Negotiate/secure key floor placement, signage and visual enhancements.

·       Merchandise ZWILLING brands to ensure optimum presentation on sales floor, maintaining visual account standards.

·       Manage territory regarding opportunities, challenges and suggestions.  Communicate information to management in a timely manner.

·       Provide before/after merchandising, new product launch and event photos on a regular basis.

·       Fill in/locate stock and merchandise all fixtures as per ZWILLING/retailer standards.

·       Monitor POS pricing, promotions – communicating information to stores and management in a timely basis.

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess

·       A culinary passion! Excellent communication (written & verbal), analytical, training and presentation skills

·       Strong organizational and time management skills

·       The ability and initiative to work independently

·       Good experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

·       Access to a computer with fast internet connectivity

·       Strong visual merchandising skills

 

Additional qualifications

·       2-3 years in merchandising or specialty store management preferred

·       BA/BS Degree or equivalent work experience

·       Occasional overnight travel needed
