Job Description:

The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of systems, applications and reports to support the business and management needs. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, a user-service orientation, familiarity with the team decision-making process and excellent problem-solving abilities. Financial Industry experience is a must 

  

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, develop, test, debug and install our in-house develop applications.
  2. Prepare technical specifications according to business functional specifications.
  3. Assist with the development of project plans
  4. Research and analyze reported maintenance requirements.
  5. Lead team of programmers, business analysts and users throughout the project life cycle.
  6. Assist end users and business analysts in the resolution of technical problems related to system functions, programming and procedures including providing off-hour support
  7. Maintain issues list and facilitate resolution of issues.
  8. Provide technical and operational support for package applications implemented in our office.
 
Job Requirements

Experience/Abilities:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  2. Japanese skills not required but a plus
  3. 3-5 years experience programming in VB.Net Framework, VBA and SQL.
  4. 3-5 years experience with Windows and Unix (AIX and/or Solaris)
  5. Proven experience writing system documentation (design, test plans, test execution, implementation plans and implementation execution).
  6. Experience working from system requirements and design specifications through implementation.
  7. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  8. Japanese and English bilingual.
  9. Ability to troubleshoot applications and identify root cause of defect
  10. User level familiarity with version control systems
  11. Excellent written and verbal communication
  12. Domain knowledge of Financial/Banking Institution methodologies a plus
  13. Knowledge of:

·         Network: FTP for Windows, NFS for Windows, UNIX-to-PC connectivity, HTTP, TCP/IP

·         OS: Windows XP, NT/2000, IBM RS/6000 AIX, Sun Solaris

·         Programming Language: Microsoft VB.Net Framework/VBA/VBScript, C, Java/JSP/JavaScript, Perl,     shell, cgi 

·         programming, HTML/XML/ASP

·         RDBMS: ODBC, ORACLE, SQL Server, Sybase

·         Browsers: IE, Microsoft IIS

·         Others: OLAP & data warehousing solutions
