Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Leads cross-functional teams in the development and commercialization of strategic product systems initiatives for the Enterprise. Drives implementation of effective project management tools and processes.

  • Leads development and commercialization of major systems initiatives.
  • Scans needs and opportunities for product systems performance across diverse sets of enterprise, channel and end-user customers. Analyzes data or information about strategic market needs.
  • Integrates GOJO, trade and end-user perspectives to develop effective product and marketing strategies.
  • Applies enterprise-wide processes and tools for cross-functional participation in major systems development initiatives.
  • Leads the cross-functional creation of clear project definition, strategies, and plans
  • Works with Process Leaders, sponsors, and functional leaders to allocate resources to projects.
  • Collaborates with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Market Research, vendors and others in product system design and validation, as well as production plan development.
  • Collaborates with Finance, Business Analysis, and Product Management functions and others to create effective multi-year business plans as part of product systems initiatives
  • Collaborates with Business Teams, Sales, Marketing, Graphics, Operations, and Trade Marketing functions to develop and implement launch and commercialization plans for new product systems
  • Monitors and coordinates flow of projects through the organization. Gathers information from all relevant sources to assess project process.
  • Makes decisions and solves problems to keep strategic priorities on track.
  • Provides information to senior leadership and others regarding strategic products and project status.
  • Communicates with customers, and other external stakeholders about new product needs
  • Builds interest internally and externally about product systems opportunities.
  • Executes an effective ‘hand off’ of product systems responsibility to Product Management functions and the organization at large after a product is successfully launched into the marketplace.
Requirements Duties may also include:
  • Supporting other business initiatives
  • Leadership in cross-functional planning and implementation of significant product systems enhancements or re-designs.
  • Serving as functional ‘owner’ of core project components that don’t have ownership in other parts of the enterprise at that time (i.e., Marketing, Market Research, etc.)

 

Education and Experience Required

 

MBA and/or five (5) to seven (7) years experience in marketing, engineering, operations or other disciplines central to successful implementation of major product initiatives.
Must have experience with industrial design, product engineering and development, and packaging development.

Additional General/Technical Skills Required

Must have knowledge of:

  • Project Management and various methods for planning and executing complex projects involving multiple perspectives, considerations and participating functions over an extended periods of time.
  • Team Leadership / Facilitation
  • Product Development with experience in product strategy, design and validation with appropriate consideration of human behavior, ergonomics, plastics engineering, packaging, valve technology, product formulation and graphics.
  • Supply Chain Planning and Processes
  • Trademarks and Patents
  • Economics and Accounting, specifically economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Sales and Marketing

Must be able to perform under pressure and deal with ambiguity and complexity. Must be able to communicate across all levels of the organization and externally with customers and other stakeholders. Must manage multiple projects and priorities; lead the coordination and integration of many projects and teams. Role calls for teaming vertically and horizontally within the organization and facilitating the work of others. Must be able to drive for resolution of problems at an Enterprise as well as a team level. High accountability exists for influencing others. Coaching others and dissemination of learning are critical to execution of this role.
