*Develop the cost information need to make a bid for a contract or to determine the profitability of a proposed new project
*Compile and analyze data on all of the factors that can influence cost
*Review various preliminary drawings and specification, visit the site of the proposed project and gather all relevant information and data to compile an adequate and accurate bid
*Prepare to takeoff for each bid/contract awarded analyzing quantity of material and labor needed for project and analyze bids made by subcontractors
