Position

Sales Information Systems Specialist

 

Function

 

Maintain all information in the MMA counselor and related commission databases. Provide information systems support for all data, information and reporting functions as needed by MMA Management.  Cross train to other positions in department and operate as backup for other positions as needed.

 

Responsibilities

 

  1. Update and maintain commission databases (including data entry) in coordination with other staff in multiple areas of MMA.
  2. Develop, update, and generate reports addressing counselor activity, production, bonuses, etc., on a routine, or as needed, basis.
  3. Organize and manage tracking and reporting needed for all counselor incentive trips, conferences, awards, etc.
  4. Work with other departments to assure that all pertinent systems and databases are accurate, and up-to-date.
  5. Respond to MMA Management (or other staff as necessary) for information or reports at the counselor or market level pertaining to sales, activity, etc., in useful, understandable ways.
  6. Research and correct counselor compensation or reporting errors.
  7. Provide backup, as needed, for other positions in the Field Services department, including counselor compensation processes and systems.
  8. Assist in developmental and structural changes to compensation and reporting systems as needed.
  9. Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

Qualifications

 

  1. Know (or exhibit the ability to learn) the database management, reporting tools, and communication methods of the IBM AS/400 system and other office and information management software.
  2. Willingness and ability to become an expert on the current and future MMA counselor compensation systems.
  3. Willingness and ability to set up systems, troubleshoot problems, and acquire information as needed.
  4. Background in, and an understanding of, the needs and requirements of information management including database management.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to other internal and external staff.
  6. Exhibit excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and to make decisions within area of responsibility and authority.
  8. Creative. Energetic. Self-starter. Adaptable.
  9. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  10. Working knowledge of Microsoft Access.
  11. Willingness and ability to work well in a changing environment, while simultaneously able to process consistent, routine data and reports.
  12. Willingness and ability to work with a wide range of personalities.
  13. Willingness and ability to learn new processes, systems, and work methods.
  14. Comfortable with a sense of urgency in a changing environment.
