Using education theory and principles applied to the current health care environment, this position will support the staff development and education needs of the Emergency Department, contributing to the delivery of quality health care to our VM patients.

1. Triages requests for education offerings, providing information about upcoming offerings, informing clients of additional resources; designs and implements educational programs to meet client needs.

2. Provides internal consultation to VM leaders and providers regarding state-of-the-art education methodologies and approaches.

3. Coordinates individualized staff development programs as needed.

4. Manages orientation of new nursing students (RN, CNA, MA).

Required: This job requires licensure as a Registered Nursing in the State of Washington as well as a Masters Degree in Nursing. This job requires excellent communication, group facilitation and presentation skills. Must be able to design, write and implement education programs based on adult learning principles and surveys of the needs of individuals or groups; must be able to design questionnaires to survey these needs, design and produce evaluation methods to assess skills and competency, and demonstrate and teach new technology, equipment, patient care and standards of care.

Preferred: Emergency Department nursing experience. An individual who has proven experience promoting high standards of care and modeling/mentoring individuals in leadership and instruction skills.
