Description

SUMMARY:

 

This is a responsible professional (exempt) position on the staff of the Senior Resource Alliance intended to assist with the monitoring functions of the Agency as well as contract management activities.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

 

·         Maintains current referral agreements with all enrolled providers within the planning and service area.  Recruits additional providers when needed.

·         Verifies that potential provider standards have been met, and facilitates the  enrollment process in a timely manner.

·         Completes monthly client files and claims reviews according to DOEA’s Holistic Monitoring Tool.

·         Trains supervisors and case managers on required client file documentation.

·         Ensures each care plan contains an adequate description of the service needs along with the duration, specific frequency and type of service authorized.  The estimated monthly and annual cost is also included.

·         Ensures that acknowledgment of recipient choice between community and institutional placement has been indicated in the case notes, and the recipient has been given a choice of enrolled service providers.

·         Ensures that each client maintained in the program is reviewed annually for complete eligibility re-determination.

·         Plans, forecasts and provides projections of expenditures and makes recommendations relative to corrections necessary to spending allocations without incurring deficits/surpluses in collaboration with case management agencies.

·         Provides a monthly surplus/deficit report and applicable corrective action plan to ensure compliance with the Medicaid Waiver spending authority contract.


·         Perform related tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

 

 

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

·               Bachelor's Degree with one year experience in public or business administration, contract monitoring, and contract management preferred, or



·               Each two years of experience in business or other relevant experience may substitute for one year of educational requirements, and



·               Successful completion of ALF CORE training within six months of date of hire.  Pass the ALF core competency exam.



KEY PERFORMANCE SKILLS REQUIRED

§  Basic understanding of the principles of contract management and the ability to apply them

§  Ability to analyze financial and program performance reports.

§  Ability to communicate with or relate to older persons.



 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to develop and monitor budgets, comprehend basic accounting principles and prepare business plans

 

REASONING ABILITY: 

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
