ASSISTANT MANAGER - MERCHANDISING
Under the direction or in the event of the absence of the Store Manager, the Assistant Manager Merchandising is responsible for the overall operations and performance of the store. You lead, manage and coordinate activities for a staff of 10-20 sales associates and provide customer service. Your success is measured by your ability to train and direct your associates in setting goals, implementing plans of action, and problem solving. Responsibilities include developing visually exciting presentations for new, advertised and seasonal merchandise; working to drive sales in the store; implementing inventory control methods to ensure successful audits and inventories; ensuring the success of your store through communication with your associates and management team.

Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year prior retail experience with a minimum of 3 months in a managerial role and/or managerial training or the equivalent combination of experience and education
- Strong working knowledge of retail operations and be able to work independently with limited direct supervision
- Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
- Multi-task oriented and able to prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interactions with customers and all levels within the company
- Strong people and interpersonal skills to handle diverse customer and associate relations concerns in a professional and constructive manner
- Ability to coach, lead, develop and motivate store associates
- Strong working knowledge of computers and software applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook
- Able to maintain a positive attitude
- High school graduate or equivalent GED, bachelor degree preferred
