Sava Senior Care has an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Regional Director of Clinical Services to work with an assigned group of nursing centers in the state of California.

SUMMARY OF REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES
Assesses, develops, evaluates, and implements clinical service operations in an assigned geographic area. Ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations and Company standards of care and operational practices. Monitors trends to identify best practices and potential risks, while incorporating findings into process improvements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Collects and reports results of federal and state surveys and compliant investigations to identify trends and assist in the development of plans of correction and troubleshoot resolution efforts and aggressively follow-up on repeat, consecutive deficiencies.
· Participates in nursing department budget planning for assigned facilities.
· Coordinates clinical service and quality improvement systems in the areas of nursing, dietary, activities, social services, and clinical information management. Evaluates the effectiveness of policies/procedures, Management Practice Guidelines and makes recommendations for change.
· Ensures assigned facilities complete the Minimum Data Set (MDS) in a timely and accurate manner. Assesses assigned facilities compliance with HCFA’s Investigative Protocols: unintended weight loss, hydration, pressure ulcer, abuse prohibition, adverse drug reaction, staffing, and dining and nutrition.
· Facilitates and participates in hiring, orientation, training and development of Directors of Nursing Services.
· Conducts entrance and exit interviews with facility Administrator, and Director of Nursing Services. Reports findings based on audits and trends to RVPO, SVP, Clinical Services, Administrator and Director of Nursing.
· Evaluates clinical practice for compliance with professional, regulatory, JCAHO, and company standards and makes recommendations for quality improvement plans that focus on optimal outcomes. Evaluates the admissions process and case mix for optimal services and census.
· Facilitates annual OBRA and state specific mock surveys, identifies risk factors, coordinates and implements an action plan to minimize liability and risk. Conducts appropriate interim surveys based on operational needs such as change of facility managers, imposition of regulatory sanctions, etc.
· Adheres to and oversees communication of privacy guidelines relative to the confidentiality of residents’ protected health information. Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of such information. Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and state and federal law.
