IFSI Overview:

The IFSI mission is to stabilize, strengthen and untie families, individuals and diverse communities through an array of culturally competent services, using public and private partnerships.

Outpatient Therapist 

Intercultural Family Services, Inc. is seeking several part-time Mental Health Therapists. 

The Outpatient Therapist responsible for providing therapeutic services for clients of IFSI’s Outpatient Psychiatric Clinic.  This responsibility includes providing individual and group therapy sessions.  This position reports directly to the Director of the Behavioral Health Clinic. Treatment planning required.  Master’s Degree in psychology or counseling required.  Minimum one year of experience in providing counseling and therapy.  A knowledge of, and sensitivity towards the mental health issues presented in communities of ethnic diversity. 

Duties:

1.    Conduct intake interviews and recommends clients for admission;

2.    Complete bio-psychosocial assessments on all new admissions;

3.    Confer with the Medical Director to review the findings of any psychiatric evaluations conducted for clients on the assigned case load;

4.    Maintain accurate records on all client contacts and ensure completeness of case files;

5.    Completes treatment plans and treatment plan updates for all assigned cases;

6.    Provides individual and group therapy as required for all assigned cases in accordance with treatment plans;

7.    Actively participate in the peer review and case consultation process as directed by the Medical Director;

8.    Actively participate in all in-services training sessions;

9.    Refer clients to inpatient and emergency services as required;

10. Recommend clients for discharge as appropriate, and once approved, complete all documentation required to facilitate the discharge process (i.e., discharge note, discharge summary, letter to client notifying him/her of discharge, etc.);

11. Attend meetings as assigned by the Medical Director, Director of Behavioral Health Center or Immediate Supervisor, and

12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

 

·         Masters Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.

·         Minimum of two years experience in providing behavioral health services.

·         Knowledge of, and sensitivity towards the mental health issues presented in communities of ethnic diversity.

·         Ability to relate within a multicultural work environment.

·         Possess Ability to write comprehensive treatment plans, and direct the treatment team.

·         The ability to relate within a multicultural work environment.

·         All candidates must meet CBH credentialing requirements.

·         Current Child Abuse, Criminal, and FBI Clearance
