Position

We are currently seeking an experienced Market Development Manager for the Banking sector.  This individual will focus on driving revenue and earnings growth in the sector by identifying and driving new opportunities, such as creating new market specific solutions, establishing partnerships and channel relationships, or identifying emerging segments.

Requirements

Critical Role

The Market Development Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of the overall go to market strategy for the sector, including solution delivery; sales and marketing alignment; customer satisfaction; and managing the revenue and profit forecast.  The Market Development Manager must be able to mobilize company resources and energize cross functional teams to achieve success.

 

The Market Development Manager is expected to:

  1. Define the sector strategy and roadmap to growth given our current capabilities within the banking sector
  2. Identify future capabilities that the company will need to continue growing, given the trends in the sector
  3. Be an expert with respect to the, trends, influencers, and competition in the sector
  4. Work with Product Development and Marketing Communications to develop the core positioning and messaging for products and solutions, sales tools and collateral
  5. Work with Product Development, Sales and Sales Training to brief and train sales channel
  6. Work with Product Development to create segment or channel specific versions of products and solutions, and to set pricing and gross margin targets
  7. Interface with field sales organization including field and customer visits, to understand marketing support requirements and customer program needs
  8. Work with supply chain, channel development, product development and external third parties to assess partnership opportunities
  9. Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
  10. Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  11. Act as a leader within the company

 

Knowledge/Experience

  • Deep market knowledge in the banking sector as it relates to our business
  • Understands and manages P&L

  • Understands Marketing & Market Development Concepts
  • Able to lead and influence cross functional teams to achieve objectives
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field required (MBA preferred)
  • Marketing (Marketing Communications/Direct Marketing) or sales experience and/or experience in services and/or technology marketing desired
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
