Description

This role provides direction and leadership in support of quality systems development and continuous improvement of product quality.


Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Establish and maintain a strong customer focus throughout the manufacturing departments and in support of plant-wide operations.
  • Use metrics to assess customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a customer quality feedback system and ensure timely follow up and actions are taken.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and trust regarding product quality and on-time performance.
  • Ensure effective Product Safety environment with adherence to HACCP, AIB, SQF and all other agreed upon product safety requirements.
  • Provide effective leadership for the facility’s Product Safety Systems, Employee Safety Systems, and their Committees.
  • Provide the leadership that supports our Quality Systems inclusive of efforts regarding GMA (NPA-SAFE) and Customer Required Systems.
  • Provide customer support through investigation, analysis, system changes and customer contact.
  • Develop and maintain an atmosphere of trust and business awareness. Insist upon fairness and equality in the application of corporate policies and treat all individuals with dignity and respect.
  • Establish a skilled and competent work force focusing on team building and group problem solving. Provide opportunities for employees to grow responsibilities and knowledge through training and coaching.
  • Perform audits of internal and external supply chain to assure Scholle Corp. of high quality, trouble free products.
  • Provide consistent and timely support to “sister facilities" to maximize the global benefit to corporate objectives.
  • Ability to manage and lead in a Lean environment.
  • Pursue stretch goals, which continue to improve key indicators beyond current standards.
  • Provide and support train team leaders and associates on various lean tools and techniques.
  • Maintain and update the site’s SQDC6S metrics (safety, quality, delivery, cost, 6S).
  • Interface with CI office to establish consistent approach for enterprise direction and database.
  • Develops strategies and programs that improve the productivity and efficiency of various work processes of the company.
  • Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
  • Actively participate in capital planning, implementation and new product development efforts.
  • Ensure effective personnel orientation, training and development programs.
  • Establish operating indicators (metrics) which clearly measure departmental performance on a regular basis and communicate this information to upper management and critical customers.
  • Travel is required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university 
  • Five to seven (5 - 7) years related management experience.
  • Continuous improvement or Lean experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products.
