Description

RL Industries is a leader in the manufacturing of highly engineered, custom composite structures.  Primary construction materials used are Fiber Glass, Resins and Thermoplastics.  Industries served include: chemical, power generation, semiconductor, and the US military.  Our designs and processes our held to a National Standard ASME RTP-1which governs design and fabrication of Reinforced Thermoset Plastics (RTP) tanks and vessels.

Located in Fairfield Ohio, RL Industries is a family owned business which was founded in 1969 and currently employs over 85 employees. This is a salaried, first shift position.
 

The Production Superintendent is responsible for leading several first line supervisors and non union production workers in the manufacturing of multiple custom projects. This position will report to the Director of Manufacturing.  This hands on person will have previously demonstrated in a low volume, very fast paced, custom manufacturing setting the following accomplishments:

 

·       Set, monitor and manage daily assignments

·       Supervision of skilled craftsman as well as standard production employees

·       Responsibility for meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost requirements

·       Working closely with engineering to translate engineering data into cost 
effective manufacturing processes on a project by project basis.

·       Managing all aspects of multiple projects including:  process, materials, and resources.

·       Promote consistent and effective employee relations

·       Assist in budget, personnel and resource mgmt.

·       Aggressively lead continuous improvement activities

·       Develop training plans, conducts, documents, and tracks training activities: assures adequate depth of support through cross training.

·       Frequent audits of employees work to assure understanding and compliance

·       Develop, monitor and act upon project metrics

·       Work closely with engineering, supervisors and senior craftsman to address all technical issues on mfg floor

·       Conducts regular performance reviews and assists employees with career development.

·       Administer disciplinary action as needed.

 

 

 

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:

·       Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical discipline preferred.  Equivalent experience   will be accepted.

·       5+ years manufacturing with at least 3 years supervisory or leadership position.  Custom manufacturing preferred.

·       Experience in composite, metal, plastic or wood fabrication

·       Understanding and demonstrated application of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies

·       Competency in understanding and applying structured quality system regulations

·       Experience reading, understanding and applying technical drawings, procedures and processes

·       High energy, logical thinker, resourceful, leader

·       Excellent communication, organizational, time management, employee relations, team building, conflict management, problem solving, and MS Excell skills
