Our Nurses receive a thorough orientation familiarizing them with our facility and the specifics of substance abuse treatment. We encourage our nurses to take advantage of our Education Reimbursement Program to further their education and/or trainings.
Responsibilities for this job include:
Under the supervision of the Nursing Coordinator, the nurse is responsible for assisting the Physician in providing patient care in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
1) Obtains a complete initial assessment including medical, psychiatric and chemical dependency history.
2) Assesses and evaluates medical and psychiatric problems and reports to the Physician to initiate interventions.
3) Confers with other departments regarding patient care on an as needed basis.
4) Accurately follows through on physician orders, administering medications and treatments and scheduling outside consultations.
5) Assists in the formulation of ITP and MTP, including assessments, writing care plans, updates of care plans, and discharge planning.
6) Assists in the identification of medical, emotional and environmental needs of the patient.
7) Assists in orienting Nursing staff and students to the Nursing Department.
8) Adheres to Patient Rights as outlines in the White Deer Run Policy Manual.
9) Assists in maintaining inventory supplies and equipment. Assists in the ordering of medications from pharmacy.
10 Participates in ongoing inservice education programs.
