Baker

Scaling, proofing, production, baking, and decorating a variety of products, adhering to established standards and recipes. Adhere to established portion and presentation standards. Oversee product quality, presentation, and distribution. Maintain production and usage records as required. Maintain high sanitary, hygienic, and safety standards and conditions. Demonstrate excellent customer service at all times. Other general cleaning and food service duties as requested.

Minimum 3 years professional bakery experience (including some supervisory duties) in a high-volume operation, or a combination of apprenticeship and work experience.  AAS preferred.  Knowledge of scaling, proofing, shaping, production, and baking of a variety of products. Knowledge of institutional bakery equipment and ability to professionally decorate cakes and other products. Knowledge of raw dough, mixes, and frozen products, and the ability to correctly identify product. Experience in following standardized recipes. Experience with organizing and maintaining bakery work stations, safe food handling, preventing food-borne illness, and sanitation techniques. Must be able to prioritize work and execute tasks with speed and efficiency.  Must be able to speak, read, and write English. Requires excellent customer service skills, good hygiene, and a professional appearance and demeanor. Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, and be able to walk, stand, bend and reach as the job requires. Must have basic and accurate math skills.
