Description
Announcing the most arresting attraction to ever hit Washington, D.C. Explore the history of crime, law enforcement, forensic science, crime scene investigation (CSI) and the consequences of committing a crime.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement and ensure adherence to all established operational policies and procedures while utilizing professional practices which support the Museum’s mission and goals; implement Museum policy within the framework of overall NMCP mission and policy.
• Through effective management of front-line staff, provide customer service in a timely and responsive manner, assure the museum runs smoothly, is adequately staffed and morale is maintained.
• Perform Manager on Duty shifts, supervise employees, and oversee admissions/guest services.
• Direct small retail shop merchandising and buying.
• Ensure that the facility maintains a safe and clean environment for the staff and guests.
• Plan and implement guest service programs to maximize earned income and customer satisfaction.
• Manage and direct sales and marketing staff including recruitment, selection and development to achieve Company goals and objectives.
• Supervise internal control, cash management, financial records, deposits and payments on the shift being worked.
• Provide operational support for special events.
• Manage and direct operations' activities and set performance goals accordingly.
• Oversee quality control, sanitation and maintenance of guest services operation and facilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate’s degree (AA) or Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university in Business Management, Museum Science or a related discipline with progressively responsible leadership experience in a museum, or career background in the non-profit, for-profit or public sector, including advanced financial and human resources management responsibilities.
• Minimum 2+ years experience in progressive entertainment/hospitality operations environment, preferably at an attraction, theme park, high volume entertainment venue or museum; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with management, customer service, operations, retail merchandising and retail buying.
• Effective ability to communicate orally or in written form with co-management, internal and external customers.
• Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
• Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with little direction.
• Fluent in MS Office.
• Available to work nights and weekends. Shifts will vary between days/nights/weekends.
