Description
StatGroup LLC, a leading medical staffing company, has an immediate
Medical Technologist positions.
Must be ASCP or AMT certified to apply.
Location: Bedford, MA
1. Certifications: ASCP or AMT certified
2. Licensure: Any state
3. Experience: 2 yrs minimum
4. Equipment: a. common laboratory instumentation such as but not limited to: ABBOTT ARCHITECT, Iris AX4280, Abbott I-STAT, Beckman Coulter LH750, Biomerieux MTX.
b. Be able to use microscope for Hematology and Urinalysis procedures.
5. Shift Schedule: Shift coverage required may include day or evening shifts.
6. Assignment Duration: 2 Contract Medical Technologists 6 months or 1,040 hours per contract
7. Start Date: 01/01/2010
8. Duties: 1. Report to work on time and stay required number of hours.
2. Perform laboratory tasks independently or with a minimum supervision.
3. Demonstrate consistent self-motivation and competence in the performance of all duties.
4. Maintain a collegial and cooperative working relationship with members of the Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service and other hospital staff.
5. Abide by medical facility safety standards and safety rules, including, but not limited to, wearing a lab coat, using gloves when handling patient specimens, use of shields when opening specimen tubes, etc…
6. Be experienced with and timely in the performance of the following tasks:
a. Be computer literate to perform patient specimen accessioning, result entry, and verification.
b. Be able to communicate via telephone to professional staff using English.
c. Be able to use common laboratory instumentation such as but not limited to: ABBOTT ARCHITECT, Iris AX4280, Abbott I-STAT, Beckman Coulter LH750, Biomerieux MTX.
d. Be able to use microscope for Hematology and Urinalysis procedures.
e. Be proficient in phlebotomy procedures.
7. Perform as needed daily, weekly, and monthly quality control procedures on any instrumentation that he/she is asked to work on .
8. Inform the supervisor and/or provider of abnormal results as defined by written laboratory protocol.
