Description

Direct and coordinates the activities of plant inventory. This position is responsible to maintain appropriate levels of all parts required for production. To ensure best practices are utilized to reduce internal and external cost in meeting our customer expectations and production schedules.

 

 
  • Responsible for maintenance of all databases required to maintain material systems and inventory.
  • Responsible for the development of continuous improvement plans of the Materials Department.
  • Receives and analyzes customer orders for proper release to manufacturing to ensure on time delivery to the customer.
  • Maintains cumulative reconciliation’s with the assembly plants.
  • Loads and maintain MRP data. (Knowledge of X Tuple a plus)
  • Maintains minimum and maximum inventory quantities necessary to maintain smooth material flow and increase inventory turns.
  • Monitors and maintains the Key Metrics goals for the Material Department and issues corrective action for non- compliance:

On time delivery

Inventory Turns

Expedites

Premium Freight

Department Overtime

 

Other Key Metrics as assigned

 

  • Weekly and Monthly reports reflecting progress of set department goals.
  • Complete knowledge and utilization of the PDCA format.
  • Schedule pick up and delivery
  • Keeps work areas clean of organized using lean methods.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Is a key member of the plant organization in regards to training department system members, planning, assigning and directing work and addressing complaints and resolving departmental problems.

 

Requirements

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements

 

  • Minimum 3 years planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of standard inventory control procedures.
  • Computer proficient in Window’s office and have the ability to format charts and spreadsheets.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities of cross functional teams.
  • Knowledge of X Turple a great plus

 

  • You must posses a can do attitude.
  • You must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Drug testing may be required.
  • Computer skills required.
