SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES:
- Strong personal leadership skills, including planning, goal-setting, resource allocation, setting objectives, negotiation, team management techniques and group problem solving.
- Requires strong interpersonal skills.
- Technical knowledge related to network and switching design, product knowledge of both switched and dedicated services and associated end use and carrier applications.
- Operational understanding of telecommunications ordering, provisioning and billing processes.
- Working knowledge of regulatory environment and general marketing principles, tools and processes.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to operate a vehicle with a valid in-state driver's license.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- A minimum of 5 years of outside sales experience is required.
- A minimum of 3 years as a sales leader is required.
- Requires a High School Diploma. College degree is preferred.
- Must have demonstrated success in (1) managing a telecommunications sales force focused on either strategic end user or inter-exchange carrier customers and (2) telecommunications sales to end user customers (including strategic and large business customers and government accounts) using relationship management and systems sales concepts.
- Experience in systems selling, consultative sales techniques and account planning including account profiling, account positioning strategy, customer needs analysis, sales opportunity development, service improvement planning, and long range account management strategies.
