Regional Vice President - Human Resources

We are currently seeking a candidate to serve as Regional Vice President – Human Resources (based in Southern California) to provide Regional HR support to Twelve (12) Art Institutes campuses, collaborating with local HR professionals on campus to provide strategic and tactical HR services to a diverse group of full/part time employees and faculty.
Position Summary and Key Elements of the position:
Responsible for providing personnel services in the fields of employment, training, compensation, employee relations, benefits administration, safety, communications and legal compliance. Supports members of the Campus Executive Committee and provides counsel concerning the human resources impact of operating decisions.
· Assists in the administration of Human Resources policies and procedures as defined by the Corporation. Serves as a resource and main point of contact for Campus based HR on policy/procedure clarification in the Region, and as an advisor for School President and Executive Committee members.
· Assists with employee communications programs regarding issues such as: legal issues, benefit adjustments, policy changes and ensuring complete comprehension of all involved.
· Adopts and implements strategic initiatives to ensure integrity and compliance with EDMC Strategic Plan, EDMC System Rules, state, regional and national regulatory and accrediting criteria and industry standards and trends.
· Ensures implementation of employee and management development plans – appraisal programs, succession planning, tuition grants/assistance, new employee orientations, conducting/organizing training programs, etc.
· Provides problem-solving solutions to the schools and to the Group Vice President as directed by the AI Vice President – Human Resources in collaboration with The President of The Art institutes. Assists with student issues as requested.
· Promotes an environment where employees are invested and involved in the culture of the institution and business.
· Ensures compliance of all schools with Federal, State and Local Labor employment laws with the help of EDMC Legal department, pertinent outside counsel and the SVP, Human Resources.
· Conducts regularly scheduled school visits to audit and support the schools.
· Communicates HR related campus issues, projects and concerns with AI Vice President – HR & Group Vice President as appropriate and participates in a weekly one on one touch base calls with AI Vice President – Human Resources & the Group Vice President.
