Description Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, motors, gears, dies, machines and mechanical systems for production, transmission, and measurement. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, and/or machines. 

This is a production environment under direction of senior personnel, the candidate will provide engineering support for production machinery and equipment during normal operations.  Provide design support for machine components replacement and enhancement to improve production flow and profitability.  Design machine components and related tooling for planned new production set-ups. Participate in proofing new designs, drawings, documentation, equipment, processes, or capabilities as required.  Perform engineering functions for projects with customers, various internal organizations, and appropriate internal personnel.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to perform engineering functions related to resolving technical anomalies of moderate scope and complexity; Demonstrated ability to work with internal company contacts in a cohesive manner to resolve a variety of technical issues; Effective written/verbal communication skills; Effective organizational skills; Ability to contribute to project milestones to meet commitments in order to preclude schedule impacts; Ability to perform duties with limited supervision to achieve successful results; Demonstrated experience in fostering teamwork to perform technical assignments; Demonstrated experience with Microsoft computer applications - Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and 3D CAD (Preferably CATIA V5).
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 - 6 years of professional experience; Considered experienced, but still a learner.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
