Description Our client is the leading manufacturer of machine tools worldwide and offers trendsetting solutions in milling and turning technologies, for controls and services, as well as for advanced technologies.  They are represented by 66 national and international sales and service sites in 32 countries with over 5,000 employees. 

Our client is currently recruiting a Vice President of Human Resources for North and Latin America.  This position is responsible for all HR activities within the 7 North and Latin America offices with over 150 employees.  This position will report to the CEO and other C-Level personelle.  The position is based in their Chicagoland office.

 

 

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

 

The successful candidate will have very strong knowledge of US employment law and regulations, benefit administration, sales compensation design, excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Strong experience with multiple locations, sales and service organizations, and international exposure a plus.  Word, Excel, and PowerPoint knowledge required.  Advanced degree (M.S./M.A. in Human Resources) is preferred.  Certified as a PHR or SPHR is helpful.

 

This position is ideal for a very strong HR Manager or Director of Human Resources looking to gain VP and International level experience.

Requirements

Position Details/Responsibilities:

 

  • Policy

 

          -Design and deliver all HR policies, practices and services.

          -Provide counsel to managers on handling of employee issues.

          -Educate European management of U.S. policies and employment laws.

          -Ensure consistency of HR benefits, policies and procedures.

 

 

  • Recruiting

 

         - Coordinate  headcount  needs and approvals from European head office with local hiring  managers.  Interview with hiring managers and professional head-hunters.

         - Designing employment offers and coordinating new hire process.

         - Develop and execute all recruitment strategies.

 

 

  • Benefits

 

          - Plan Administrator for all benefits plans.

          - Coordinate with finance department on all renewals and annual budget.

          - Design and deliver all benefit programs including education.

          - Annual renewal

 

 

  • Work Visa Processing/Green Cards

 

          - Coordinate with candidates and attorneys to process Work Visas.

          - Coordinate  with  employees  and  attorneys  to process Green Card applications.

 

 

Travel:

 

Travel throughout the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and Mexico will be required at times along with 3-4 trips per year to Europe for HR Status meetings.  Travel is approximately 20%.
