Job Description 

 

 

Perform Manufacturing cost and variance analysis for the Grad Products group in the Scholastic Division for Announcements and Accessories and Diploma.    This includes monthly variance analysis of production spending and production costs, balance sheet reconciliations (researching and problem resolution), developing the forecast and planning processes, weekly key metrics preparation and analysis, and overall analysis to support the two product lines from a cost perspective in the Shelbyville Tennessee location including standard cost development and capacity and production labor modeling.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist Plant Accountant to ensure proper GAP and SOX controls are followed 
  •  Development and updates to standard costs by product and market

-   Defines Bill of Material and Production Routing costs

-   Works with Plant Accountant in annual update process

-   Ensure proper allocations and costs between the Announcement and Diploma   businesses

  •   Coordination of month end and year end close activities with Plant Accountant

        -   Prepare Month End Variance Analysis

-   Develop tools to analyze results and reporting

-   Reconciliation of monthly results report to Division Finance Group

-   Work with Shelbyville Functional managers on understanding financial results

  • Weekly key indicator reporting

-   Prepare weekly key indicator reporting for Diploma and Announcement product lines

-   Development of new tools and trending analysis to project impact of current indicators on financial results

-   Provide analysis to support changes and impacts of current key indicators

  •  Monthly Balance sheet reporting and analysis

-   Work with Diploma and Announcement plant operations to report balance sheet variations between plan and last year

-   Develop reporting with the operations to show balance trends and projections

  •  Support the Forecast and Planning processes

-    Work with Grad Products finance team to build rolling monthly forecasts based on current indicator trends and cost variance analysis for P&L profitability and Inventory Balances on Balance sheet

-   Support planning processes buy building models to support the cost of goods produced/sold in annual plan

-   Develop key indicator reporting models to project impact on future results

-   Key partner with Sales and Operational Planning process to forecast product trends and inventory requirements to meet shipment forecasts while managing product obsolescence

 


Job Requirements 

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 8+ years related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access required.  Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Ability to plan, organize and see projects to completion while managing deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization.
  • Time management/organization skills – the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks
